More Afterlife Stuff

Ned was getting used to being in Skyrim. Ever since he had woken up on that cart to Helgen he had felt more free and alive then he ever had. He felt most alive when he was fighting. Swinging his two handed steel greatsword made him feel like a new man. He was stronger too. It felt like he was 20 years younger. Some moments though had their downsides. Like this one. Right now Ned was sneaking around a cave that a bunch of bandits had holed up in. He stepped through the corridor and drew his bow. There was only one bandit in this room. He pulled back the bow string with ease, and released. The arrow whistled through the air, and killed the bandit before he had time to scream. Instantly Ned dropped to one knee. He saw a memory from a previous life. He was fighting several creatures. They looked a lot like the orcs that he had met in Skyrim already. He was cleaving through them with ease. He looked to his sides and saw two very short men. They couldn't have been more than three and a half feet. They had collar length curly hair and were helping him kill the orcs. Ned turned around and saw one orc that was different from the rest. This one looked meaner, crueller. This orc had a bow in his hand. He drew back the drawstring... and fired. Ned could do nothing but take it. He dropped to his knees in shock. Now the pain came. It was burning inside him. Ned pushed his feelings aside, and stood up. He continued to kill the overwhelming numbers of orcs when he felt a second arrow pierce his body. This one was more painful than the last. He had to keep fighting though. For the hobbits. For some reason that term felt right. He got up again and continued to fight. Until a third peirced his body. He dropped to his knees. The orcs took the hobbits and there was nothing he could do. The Uruk Hai walked up to him and drew another arrow back. Again a familiar term. Ned looked up at him, prepared to die. Then Salvation came. A man with a similar greatsword ran up and fought the uruk hai. He couldn't even watch because he was in so much pain. The next thing he knew the man was standing over him. "They took the little ones!" he exclaimed. "be still" said Aragorn. This one he knew by name. "where is frodo" asked Ned. Ned was beginning to accept the many names he recognized but did not know. "I let frodo go" "Then you did what I could not. I tried to take the ring from him." "the ring is beyond our reach" "I did not see. I've failed you all" "no. You fought bravely. Let me take it." "no! leave it. It is over. the world of men will fall. please. Protect Gondor." "I know not what will happen. But I will not let that great city fall. Our people will be safe" "our people... Your people." Ned reached for his sword laying next tho him. Aragorn put it into his hand. He clasped the sword against his hand. "I will always follow you my brother, my captain, My king" and with those words, Ned left this world..... Ned saw again in the cavern. He realized they had been his memories, he just could not recall them at will.

Multiple Perspectives

Song for this post.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIANBamMgas

So I was thinking about how I could learn to be a bettter writer when it hit me. All of my main characters are men. If I wish to be a decent writer I need to learn more about the female perspective. So over the course of the day I'll just keep working on this post.

[I will also do a bit of a commentary which will be kept in brackets.]

[This part is always difficult. How to open it. The first thing I do, is get an Idea of what I want to do. I just want to write a story about a teenage girl and what a normal event would be like from her perspective. I'm thinking something along the lines of a school dance, and she gets to dance with her dream guy while she is there, then things might get romantic, that is if her worst enemy doesnt muck it up for her. See how that works? Just starts flowing out of my fingers onto the screen. Just fascinating when you stop to think about it.

The next issue is Names. So I have to go through a bunch of different names in my head. If I really just can't think of one I go to a baby names website and start looking through there. Usually the name kind of corresponds to the personality. I already know that we are going to call her morbid evil enemy Stacy, because, well. I don't like that name. It's kind of a personal thing that nobody else would understand. But that is the one I picked. Our main character is going to be the kind of girl that others would easily outcast. Freckles, Hoodie, Sneakers, and all that jazz. To top it all off, Fiery Red Hair. (not like a strawberry blonde color, closer to an orange color than anything.) It's going to be solid. Now what to name her. I would use the name Cadence (Gawd I luv dat naym!) But I feel that I overuse it. To the baby name websites!..... Didn't take very long to find one I liked. I quickly decided on the name Alex. It is very fitting to her personality. At least, the personality I have planned for her. You never know, these things evolve.

Next on the list, the Manly Man of Manliness and Men. He is a tough one to name. After all he is basically Jesus in her eyes. Body of Chris Hemsworth, Face of Orlando Bloom. Voice like gold. All that snazzy jazz. I'm debating whether to make him british or not right now. You know what, screw it let's do it. British he shall be. And so now we must find a name. How do you name the perfect guy? Well obviously his last name is going to be Steele. 'Cuz everyone likes that name. It's just a really cool name. Now what about a first name? I want a name that makes you want to fall in love with him. Lets try the baby namer! I searched around for a bit longer this time and found the name Aiden. It means Litle Fire. So we could make him a hothead if we want. But I don't think that that is what girls think of as a perfect guy. So now we open the story. We have to to think to ourselves, how would a girl like Alex describe this night, She has no idea that she is about to have the time of her life. And now, we can finally open our story.]

Alex breathed a deap sigh of boredom into the cold night air. Why they had picked to hold a play in the 40 degree weather was beyond her. She tried walking around a bit, but she knew it was pointless. She had no friends here, Nor did she want any. These so called "friends" would most likely stab her in the back and throw her to the wolves anyway. She was kind of a social outcast, in fact, she wasn't even sure why she was here. It's not like anyone would want to dance with her. She didn't have a date, but she was ok with that. She preferred the company of solitude anyway.

As she walked into the large white tent in front of her the music significantly increased in volume. She looked around. It seemed as though she was not welcome here, because she was so different. Her red hair made her stick out like a sore thumb. She quickly became bored and sat down on one of the benches lining the perimeter of the tent. [This is where I introduce Aiden. I want you to notice how much I exaggerate his every movement.] The tent flap flapped open as a guy walked in. This guy was almost glowing. He had the body of an Olympic Athlete, and a face that looked like it had been blessed by an angel when he was born. He walked in with two or three of his friends, it didn't matter. The only thing that would make her stand out to him would probably be the freakish number of freckles she had. She looked down at her knees in thought.

She thought about how much she hated school, and how she had no friends. She thought about how guys didn't like her and how the girls treat her as a freak. In truth there was nothing wrong with her. She didn't understand why people treated her the way she did. She was beginning to get lost in these thoughts when she was suddenly pulled out of them. "Your.... Alex, right?" Said a voice. "Eeyup" she replied without thinking. She looked up to see who she was talking to... and almost had a heat attack. It was Aiden. The Aiden. "Well don't you look just sadder than a puppy without dinner" Alex laughed at this analogy. Some people said she did remind them of a puppy sometimes."Yeah. I just kind of came here. I don't really have a date." "Hey I don't either. In that case, May I have this dance?" Alex couldn't believe her ears. Had that really happened. "Gladly!"

Right as she got up John Mayer's In your Atmosphere [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Svk9oz3tONo ] began to play. "I don't really know how to dance." Alex timidly said. "Don't worry about it. Just follow my lead" He gently held her hips and showed her the way, leading her through each step. After about a minute, she got a hold of it. They slowly swayed through the song, enjoying each moment. Right as the song was coming to a close, he gently pulled her close, and looked her in the eyes. Alex's heart began to race as she realized what was about to happen. She closed her eyes and waited. Then things took a turn for the worse.

Stacy walked in to the tent, with about five friends in tow. Stacy had long brown hair, a perfect face, and the body of a young woman. She was what most guys dream of as, "The Perfect Girl". The only problem was that she was a major pain in the butt. She often picked on Alex for fun. So when she walked through that tent, Alex simply muttered, "aw crap."

"what's wrong?" asked Aiden.

"Stacy's here."

"Is that bad?"

"Very"

Stacy then walked right up to the two of them and made an ugly face. "How long did you have to torture him before he agreed to dance with you?"

"Actually I asked her" Replied Aiden, "In fact, we were kind of having a tender moment before you ruined it. So do kindly leave."

"Fine. I didn't want to talk to you losers anyway."

He had done it. Her knight in shining armor had saved her from the fire breathing dragon. Goodness knows Stacy certainly was ugly enough to be one. "Where were we?" Asked Aiden. "Here." Replied Alex with a new boldness to her voice. She leaned forward and kissed him. The world seemed to stop around them. The sound of the music drowned out, and the chatter of people became seemingly silent. It was as if it was just the two of them. Alex felt happiness flood her entire body. She couldn't believe her luck. The two had the time of their lives that night. Alex was sad to see him go for the night, but on the bright side she would see him the next day at school. What she had forgotten though was that Stacy could certainly breath fire like a dragon.

Well? Did I do a good job? Honestly tell me what you think! There is a comments section for a reason!

What a fun night!

So I have spent the entire night so far, eating brazillian Nutella (called Jandu), browsing Reddit, and singing into my spoon. Tonight was a good night. Have a song for your dedication. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1G4isv_Fylg
